Conservation & Maintenance

We passionately provide interventions resulting in the conservation, preservation, and maintenance of deteriorating private, civic, and public works of art. Interventions can include technical, scientific, aesthetic, or environmental methods to salvage works of art from Our skilled artists have restored metal sculptures, relined canvases, infilled paintings, clarified charcoal drawings, repaired stained glass and ceramic mosaics, bonded antique maps, and restored wood tables to name a few.

Due Diligence, Appraisals & Sales on Consignment

We research, evaluate, and assess an object’s general condition and prepare a comprehensive analysis report. We consign art from a variety of artists and prepare, package, and ship artwork for auction houses.

Custom Framing

Custom framing of private and corporate artwork, photos, documents, and collectibles using professional, archival, and museum quality materials. We also stretch canvas, replace glass or plexiglass, and repair valuable existing frames.

Insurance Evaluations

We prepare a detailed condition report documenting any physical damages caused by smoke, water, UV, or vandalism, gather archival research, document any observable conditions, and outline thorough restoration plans to include cleaning treatments, necessary repairs, and recommended protective measures. We also provide several emergency services to mitigate damages that include ozone generators and UV light sanitizers to neutralize smoke and sterilize mold.

Photo Restoration

Proficient use of digital technology to repair (in)valuable, rare, fragile, stained, torn, cracked, and faded images or documents printed on acid-free archival paper with interleaving tissue as needed.

Architectural Restoration

We coordinate and consult with architects/designers to oversee conservation and maintenance by contractors. We have the ability to provide full architectural services through our long-standing partnership with SOW Design Studio.

 As a standard practice, Kat Wolf Studio commits to perform all conservation treatments in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice as outlined by the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

Kat Wolf Studio adheres to the basic ethical principles of any conservation process by ensuring we “do no harm” to the work, and that wherever possible, anything we do could be reversed by a later generation.

As conservation specialists with extensive training and expertise, we believe the preservation of cultural objects, structures, or collections with artistic, historical, or social significance is an invaluable and irreplaceable legacy that must be preserved for future generations.

Katia Lobo

Owner & Artist

A proficient artist with years of experience in art restoration, custom framing, and museum services. Apprenticeship with William Bock Fine Arts has prepared Katia to proficiently restore the variety of art present in the South Florida market. Katia received her Bachelor’s of Art in Art History and Studio Art from Florida International University. She began her career in the arts at The Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach as a Guest Service Associate. Her experiences range from facilitating group tours, exhibit security and maintenance, and to private event support, admissions, and reception responsibilities.
